I am Dr. Toi Flynn, a Detroit native, dedicated public servant, and compassionate psychotherapist with more than 17 years of experience in child welfare and human services. I specialize in working with adolescents, young adults, couples, and survivors of human trafficking, creating a supportive space where clients feel seen, heard, and empowered. I am deeply committed to meeting clients where they are, walking alongside them with empathy, authenticity, and care.
I recently earned my PhD in psychology. I also hold a Master of science in psychology, a master's degree in clinical mental health counseling, and I have a master of philosophy in psychology degree, equipping me with both academic depth and practical expertise.
I have extensive experience supporting survivors of human trafficking, sexual assault, domestic violence, and court-involved youth. My work has included collaborating with federal and state law enforcement, the Michigan Department of Health & Human Services (MDHHS), the FBI, and Homeland Security, as well as contributing to the development of a human trafficking program. I am passionate about survivor-centered care, prevention, and helping clients heal from trauma while building resilience and purpose. I bring both clinical insight and real-world experience into each session, fostering meaningful growth and lasting change. From me to you: It’s okay to not be okay. Everything happens for a reason and this moment is part of your journey, you are exactly where you need to be.
