Kelly is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) who specializes in Sexual Addiction and complex partner betrayal trauma. Her other focus areas include compulsive sexual behaviors (including but not limited to masturbation and pornography), relationship infidelity, trauma reactions, couples healing, post-traumatic stress disorders, and mood disorders. Kelly is a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist Candidate. She received her training from the International Institute for Trauma and Addiction Professionals (IITAP). She has also earned a Bachelor of Science in Health Studies from Michigan State University and a Master of Arts in School & Community Counseling from Wayne State University. Additionally, Kelly has completed coursework at The University of North Carolina Greensboro in clinical supervision for Limited License Professional Counselors. Kelly also holds a School Counselor License (SCL) and has years of experience working with adolescents on depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, grief & loss, and emotional regulation. Her primary interest areas include identity development and matters related to intimacy and attachment.Kelly’s approach to counseling draws from multiple theories, but focuses on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Reality Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. She offers therapy in the following formats: individual, group, and couples. Couples therapy focuses on task work towards sexual recovery and developing healthy sexuality. Kelly also offers workshops on sexual addiction and complex partner trauma.
