Jordan Ditsch

Hey there! My name is Jordan, and I’m a Limited Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist at Sollars & Associates. I’m currently practicing under the supervision of a LMFT. My role as your therapist is to support you in navigating life’s circumstances and the choices you make along the way. Therapy might involve some difficult topics or emotions as well as some exciting realizations or discoveries, along with everything in between. I’ll be there to stand by your side while you figure things out!

About my education and training: I have a Bachelor’s in Psychology from Eastern Michigan University and a Master’s in Marriage & Family Therapy from Capella University. My approach to therapy is systemic: I recognize that we as individuals are part of systems (i.e. families, groups, classes, city residents, etc.) with other individuals, and there is reciprocal influence at play between the individuals and the systems. My favorite model to use in practice is Narrative Therapy, although I typically utilize an integrative approach by blending methods from different models such as Collaborative, Psychodynamic, Structural, Psychoeducational, Bowenian, and others. I’m also a big fan of mindfulness and play-informed therapy. It’s my responsibility to assess which model(s) and methods within my scope could be most helpful in each case. I also have a vested interest in pursuing further education and training to broaden my scope of competence.

About how I practice: Currently I exclusively do teletherapy, so we can meet virtually from anywhere in Michigan. I work with individuals (~5-60 years old), couples, and families. I’m happy to work with people of various backgrounds and identities. Some concerns you might have that I can help with include depression, anxiety, self-harm, suicidality, trauma, loss, significant change, interpersonal/relationship conflict, infidelity, life transitions, emotional/self expression, parenting, and more. We can also work on concerns regarding gender identity, sexual orientation, and sexual behavior. I am allied with LGBTQ+ folks, the body positive community, the sex positive community, and folks with physical and/or mental disabilities. I take steps to maintain cultural competence by seeking education/training and remaining curious about my own and other cultures. I can currently accept Medicaid, Medicaid HMO plans, Cigna, Optum, United Health Care, and Blue Cross Blue Shield as well as private pay.

Ultimately I strive to provide the most effective and ethical care possible. If anything comes up that is outside of my scope, I will support you in finding other options. If it sounds like my approach might be helpful for you, please request me. If you have questions, we can talk about them. If we work together, we can figure out just about anything. Thank you for your time!

A little something else about me: I love animals, especially cats, bats, and penguins / all things cute and spooky are my jam / I’m a crafter, primarily crochet / advocacy and service to others matter a lot to me.
