Starting therapy can be scary at first, so give yourself a pat on the back for taking the courageous first step toward healing your heart, opening your mind, and lifting your spirits!
My philosophy is that through a strong therapeutic alliance, great progress can happen. If you’re in the therapy room with me, I want you to feel and to know that I’ve got your back. I believe authenticity, warmth, humor, and highlighting strengths all help to create a sense of trust between me and my clients and a sense of empowerment within them as individuals.
I graduated with my bachelor’s degree in social work from Western Michigan University. I later went on to earn my master’s degree in social work from Wayne State University, where I also served as an intern providing outpatient therapy to folks within the LGBTQ+ community. In my current practice, I utilize various skills and approaches, like cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, motivational interviewing, and more. I am passionate about working with individuals experiencing anxiety disorders, relationship challenges, life transitions, grief/loss, and challenges with self-esteem. If any of these are a part of your life experience, and you wish to address them, it would be my honor to meet you where you are at and walk with you to where you want to go.
