Amanda Legrand

My name is Amanda (she/her/hers) and I am a supervised graduate intern that is currently attending Northwestern University’s Clinical Mental Health Counseling program. Prior to my career change to psychotherapy, I have a collective professional experience of almost 12 years working within the community and with populations from different backgrounds. I have a Bachelor’s in Justice Studies and I am passionate about diversity, equity and inclusion, and advocacy, and I’m an ally of the LGBTQUIA+ community. Coming to counseling takes courage and I believe the best approach is to teach each other and work as a team. You are the one in control of your treatment. I take an integrative and collaborative approach to therapy and can incorporate several interventions and techniques based on your needs. I know therapy can be a difficult first step. It would be a privilege to cultivate your strengths to lead you to the change and meaningful life you are working towards, and I look forward to the opportunity to recognize and nourish your unique qualities.
