Deciding to begin therapy is a courageous step that can feel scary and overwhelming. I recognize the bravery and strength it takes to meet a stranger and explore the challenges and concerns you may be facing. I am committed to creating a trusting, respectful and engaging partnership that focuses on collaboration. I believe that treatment should be person-centered, recognizing that treatment should be driven by the individual and where they are at. It is truly my passion to empower others to promote healing, find a healthy perception of themselves and strengthen relationships leading to a happier and healthier life.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with experience working with children and adolescents from birth to 17 as well as adults and families. I received my Bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University in Social Work and Psychology and my Master’s degree from University of Michigan in Social Work. I know that no single approach is right for one individual. I have been trained in a range of modalities including Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral therapy, Parent Management Training, Play Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Attachment Theory, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, among many others.
I have worked with children, adults and families in multiple settings, and have experience coordinating and advocating for educational, medical and community needs. Some of my specialties include mood and anxiety disorders, relationship issues and domestic violence, self-esteem, trauma, and parenting issues.
