We all face challenges in everyday life and sometimes we need a little extra support and assistance along the way. You may be dealing with the stressors of everyday life to an array of mental health disorders and are looking for some ways to help process and implement new ways to cope.
My skills and passion include creating a safe and supportive place for clients, ending stigma related to mental health disorders, and teaching clients the tools and resources for self empowerment.
I received my Master’s in social work with a concentration in mental health and chemical dependency at Eastern Michigan University. While completing my masters, I worked in a long term care facility and interned at a substance abuse rehabilitation center. This allowed me to gain experience in working with clients with adjustment disorders, anxiety, depression, substance use disorders and more. I primarily work with adults (ages 18+).
I utilize an array of evidence based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and motivational interviewing with a strength based, humanistic, and person centered approach.
I believe that you are the expert of your own life experiences and my goal is to help you gain better insight, knowledge, and understanding of what you are currently experiencing and develop effective coping skills.
I think that it takes a lot of courage and insight to seek counseling and I applaud any person who is taking the first step in starting services. I look forward to supporting you throughout your journey.
