Liz Mitchell

My goal is to provide a safe, judgment-free space for my clients to discover their authentic selves and enhance their ability to manage life’s challenges. I have experience working with children, teens, young adults, and families, and have helped my clients manage symptoms and address root causes of depression, anxiety, trauma, interpersonal conflict, self-harm, and suicidal ideation. As a school social worker, I have expertise in the special education world and can help families navigate what can be a stressful journey toward ensuring their children’s unique needs are met at school. I am also an LGBTQ+ affirming therapist and have experience and a passion for working with LGBTQ+ youth and their families.

I utilize a strengths-based, person-centered approach and incorporate aspects of CBT, interpersonal therapy, mindfulness, and other modalities. I am a certified trauma practitioner and incorporate principles of trauma-informed care in all aspects of my work.
