My name is Julie (She/her) and I am a supervised graduate intern. I am currently enrolled in the Master's of Science program in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Capella University. I have 5 years of experience in the mental health field working with a diverse array of populations and ages. I use a collaborative and educational approach in counseling by providing a safe space for you to discuss your concerns and needs without judgment. Together, we can work as a team to help you achieve the goals you have selected for treatment.
My theoretical approach involves integrating cognitive behavioral theory (CBT) and person- centered theory (PCT). CBT supports the idea that people will experience difficulties in life based on their personal perception of the events that have occurred. PCT supports the idea that every person is unique, valued, and worthy of acceptance. I will incorporate a variety of techniques and interventions to ensure your unique concerns are addressed throughout the counseling process. I look forward to helping you foster new skills and enhance your current strengths as you work toward change."
