Jessica Hogan

My name is Jessica and I am a limited licensed counselor with a master's degree from the University of Detroit Mercy.

One of my favorite things about working in the mental health field is the variety of ways therapy can be approached. I enjoy mixing different theories to fit each of my clients, as we are all so completely different from one another and one size does not usually fit everyone! In general I practice person-centered theory, which focuses on the importance of the client-therapist relationship and the idea that the client knows themselves best. I also have a great appreciation for cognitive-behavioral theory and love utilizing those techniques with many of my clients.

I spend a lot of my time working with children and adolescents to encourage early mental healthcare interventions, in addition to working with adults and families to adapt skills throughout life transitions. I believe that so many of us have the strength inside to make the changes we want to see, but sometimes you need someone to walk alongside you and help you find the tools to do that!
