“Quiet the mind and the soul will speak.” –Buddha
I am hoping to learn all about YOU, so let me tell you a little about ME. I am a Master of Social Work Graduate from Wayne State University. My experience is robust as I have worked with a vast population of ages, races, and developmental levels. I have worked with at-risk youth in a school setting, provided therapy to children diagnosed with Autism, ran substance abuse groups for adults, advocated for child victims of sexual assault, and currently am employed as a children’s clinician at a community mental health as well as my job here as a psychotherapist.
My areas of specialty are teens experiencing suicidal thoughts and I practice by implementing Marsha Linehan’s Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) model. This model is also used and implemented with individuals seeking sobriety. I am very comfortable working with children and even adults, suffering from severe emotional disturbances (PTSD, ADHD, ODD,) and other diagnoses.
Although, it may seem I only work with those dealing with major mental health concerns, I am happy to and very much enjoy individuals that just need someone to chat with and hope to provide a little bit of shine during a though time.
