“The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.”
-Carl Rogers
In my role as a mental health counselor, our work together is collaborative. It is built on safety, security, respect, and non-judgement. Our goal is harmony for your life so that you, your family, or your relationship can be the best it can be. I work with all walks of life, I meet you where you’re at, and together we walk down a road toward healing. That is not to say that the road will always be easy and pleasant. Therapy, much like life, is full of hills and valleys. Sometimes the greatest work we do on ourselves is the most painful. The good thing is you are stronger than you know and your future is bright.
My formal education includes the creative arts, humanities, and services based on assisting communities, families and individuals. I earned my license in mental health counseling through Spring Arbor's CACREP Accredited Master's program which was robust and rich in a variety of modalities, always focused on the diversity of our multicultural differences.
I look forward to our future work together and will leave you with the words of my favorite informal counselor:
“Often out of periods of losing come the greatest strivings toward a new winning streak.”
