As a mental health professional, I believe in creating a safe and genuine environment for a client to be free to acknowledge their most vulnerable self, without judgment. The client-counselor relationship is unique and collaborative, therefore the significance of a trusting bond cannot be overemphasized. I believe that the therapeutic relationship grows organically, with time, and at the client’s pace.
Each client is unique, so I integrate approaches best suited to the individual and the situation–Psychodynamic, CBT, Humanistic, and Mindfulness–but at the core of therapy is self-exploration. I have professional experience with children, adolescence, and adults in areas of depression, anxiety, grief and loss, disabilities and daily living skills, art/play therapy, and ASD. I am passionate about mental health, arts and education, and animals.
I hold an M.A. from Oakland University in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and I am here for the challenge with you. I am dedicated to assisting clients to overcome struggles and strive towards success, in whatever form that it may take.
