Mental strength is not the ability to stay out of the darkness; it’s the ability to sit present in the darkness knowing that the light will shine again.

As a psychotherapist, my goal is to provide clients a place where they can come to feel relaxed and able to speak freely and honestly. I am there to motivate, engage and guide them. I will be using client-centered, problem solving and motivational techniques. I aim to provide an empathically supportive atmosphere where clients can feel at ease, take a deep breath, and step back and begin to look at their life’s problems from a fresh, new perspective.
One of my primary goals is to make sense of the unique ways a client perceives and experiences society, individuals, situations, traumas and events and why they do. In other words, how the individual associates their own particular meaning to events. Through enhancing this understanding, the client becomes liberated to intervene greater choice in emotional response.

I have experience working with children, adolescents, and adults. I’m interested in working with individuals as well as couples on a variety of issues including: Anxiety/Panic Disorder; Depression; Life Transitions; Adolescent Transitions; Relationship Issues; Eating Disorders; Behavioral Problems; Self-Esteem; PTSD; and Grief and Loss.
My aim is to build a relationship with the client that is collaborative, in which goals are set together, we think together, explore together, and even experience together, in ways to help the client work toward their desired outcomes.
